Ephesians 3

1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles...

2 Surely you have heard about the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you,

3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.

4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,

5 which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.

6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of His promise in Christ.

7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace, given me through the working of His power.

8 Though I am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given me: to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

9 and to illuminate for everyone the stewardship of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ.

10 His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

11 according to the eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 In Him and through faith in Him we may enter God’s presence with boldness and confidence.

13 So I ask you not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

14 ... for this reason I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.

16 I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being,

17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 will have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and depth and height

19 of the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us,

21 to Him be the glory in the church in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

1 ¶ For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

14 ¶ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21 Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

2 after ye have heard of the ministration of the grace of God which is given unto me toward you,

3 That this mystery was made known unto me by revelation, as I have written in brief above,

4 That, when ye have read it, ye may know my mind by the mystery of Christ,

5 Which was not made known in times past unto the children of men, but is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit,

6 That the Gentiles should be heirs, and should be incorporated, and should be fellow partakers of his promise in Christ through the gospel,

7 that I have become a servant according to the gift of the grace of God, which is given me according to his mighty power:

8 To me, the least of all the saints, is given this grace, to proclaim among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

9 And to make every man know the fellowship of the mystery which was hid from the world in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ,

10 That now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known to the principalities and dominions of heaven in the church.

11 According to the purpose of the world, which he hath shewed in Christ Jesus our Lord,

12 By whom we have joy and access in all confidence through faith in him.

13 Wherefore I pray you, that ye be not weary because of my afflictions which I suffer for you, which are an honour unto you.

14 Therefore I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 Who is the true father of all that are called children in heaven and in earth,

16 That he would give you power according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened by his Spirit in the inner man,

17 and Christ to dwell in your hearts by faith, and to be rooted and established by love,

18 That ye may understand with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height,

19 Knowing also that to love Christ is far better than all knowledge, that ye may be filled with all the fulness of God. or: the love of Christ, which surpasses all knowledge.

20 But to him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or understand, according to the power that is in us,

21 To whom be glory in the church which is in Christ JEsu for ever and ever! Amen]
