Ezekiel 39

1 “As for you, O son of man, prophesy against Gog and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

2 I will turn you around, drive you along, bring you up from the far north, and send you against the mountains of Israel.

3 Then I will strike the bow from your left hand and dash down the arrows from your right hand.

4 On the mountains of Israel you will fall—you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you as food to every kind of ravenous bird and wild beast.

5 You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD.

6 I will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the LORD.

7 So I will make My holy name known among My people Israel and will no longer allow it to be profaned. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

8 Yes, it is coming, and it will surely happen, declares the Lord GOD. This is the day of which I have spoken.

9 Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out, kindle fires, and burn up the weapons—the bucklers and shields, the bows and arrows, the clubs and spears. For seven years they will use them for fuel.

10 They will not gather wood from the countryside or cut it from the forests, for they will use the weapons for fuel. They will loot those who looted them and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord GOD.

11 And on that day I will give Gog a burial place in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the Sea. It will block those who travel through, because Gog and all his hordes will be buried there. So it will be called the Valley of Hamon-gog.

12 For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them in order to cleanse the land.

13 All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day I display My glory, declares the Lord GOD.

14 And men will be employed to continually pass through the land to cleanse it by burying the invaders who remain on the ground. At the end of the seven months they will begin their search.

15 As they pass through the land, anyone who sees a human bone will set up a pillar next to it, until the gravediggers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog.

16 (Even the city will be named Hamonah.) And so they will cleanse the land.

17 And as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: Call out to every kind of bird and to every beast of the field: ‘Assemble and come together from all around to the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood.

18 You will eat the flesh of the mighty and drink the blood of the princes of the earth as though they were rams, lambs, goats, and bulls—all the fattened animals of Bashan.

19 At the sacrifice I am preparing, you will eat fat until you are gorged and drink blood until you are drunk.

20 And at My table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, of mighty men and warriors of every kind,’ declares the Lord GOD.

21 I will display My glory among the nations, and all the nations will see the judgment that I execute and the hand that I lay upon them.

22 From that day forward the house of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God.

23 And the nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their iniquity, because they were unfaithful to Me. So I hid My face from them and delivered them into the hands of their enemies, so that they all fell by the sword.

24 I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and transgressions, and I hid My face from them.

25 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Now I will restore Jacob from captivity and will have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My holy name.

26 They will forget their disgrace and all the treachery they committed against Me, when they dwell securely in their land, with no one to frighten them.

27 When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them out of the lands of their enemies, I will show My holiness in them in the sight of many nations.

28 Then they will know that I am the LORD their God, when I regather them to their own land, not leaving any of them behind after their exile among the nations.

29 And I will no longer hide My face from them, for I will pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”

1 ¶ Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I [am] against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:

3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that [is] with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and [to] the beasts of the field to be devoured.

5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken [it], saith the Lord GOD.

6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.

7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not [let them] pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I [am] the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

8 ¶ Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this [is] the day whereof I have spoken.

9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:

10 So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down [any] out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the [noses] of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call [it] The valley of Hamongog.

12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.

13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury [them]; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.

14 And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.

15 And the passengers [that] pass through the land, when [any] seeth a man's bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamongog.

16 And also the name of the city [shall be] Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.

17 And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, [even] a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.

18 Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.

19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

20 Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.

21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.

22 So the house of Israel shall know that I [am] the LORD their God from that day and forward.

23 ¶ And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.

25 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;

26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made [them] afraid.

27 When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;

28 Then shall they know that I [am] the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.

29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

2 Behold, I will turn thee about, and lure thee, and bring thee out of the ends of the midst, and make thee come upon the borders of Israel.

3 And I will strike thy bow out of thy left hand, and cast thine arrows out of thy right hand.

4 Upon the mountains of Israel shalt thou be laid, thou, and all thy host, and the people that are with thee. I will give thee to the fowls whence they fly, and to the beasts of the field to eat.

5 Thou shalt lie down in the field: for I the LORD have said it.

6 And I will cast fire upon Magog, and upon them that dwell safely in the isles; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

7 For I will make known my holy name among my people Israel, and will no more profane my holy name; but the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

8 Behold, it is come and is done, saith the LORD GOD; this is the day of which I spake.

9 And the citizens of the cities of Israel shall go out, and make fire, and burn the weapons, and the shields, and the tartars, and the bows, and the arrows, and the fist staves, and the long spears, and shall keep fire therewith seven years,

10 That they take not wood out of the field, nor hew wood out of the wood: but of weapons they shall keep fire; and they shall rob, of whom they are robbed; and they shall plunder, of whom they are plundered, saith the LORD GOD.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place to be buried in Israel, even the valley of the sea eastward: and they that pass by shall be afraid of it, because Gog and his multitude are buried there: and the valley shall be called Gog's valley.

12 And the house of Israel shall bury them seven months, that the land may be cleansed.

13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury in them, and shall glory in that I have that day shewed my glory, saith the LORD GOD.

14 And they shall set apart men to go about the land continually, and with them the grave- diggers to bury the remnant of the land, that it may be cleansed: after seven months shall they search.

15 And they that go about the land, and see a man's bone, shall set up a mark thereat, until the grave-diggers bury it also in the valley of Gog.

16 So shall the name of the city be called Hamonah. So they shall cleanse the land.

17 Now therefore, thou child of man, thus saith the LORD GOD; Say unto all fowls whence they fly, and unto all beasts of the field, Gather yourselves together, and come hither. Gather yourselves together on every side unto my sacrifice, which I will slay for you, a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel; and eat flesh, and drink blood.

18 The flesh of the mighty shall ye eat, and the blood of the princes of the earth shall ye drink, of rams, and of rams, and of goats, and of oxen, all of them fat and well fattened.

19 And ye shall eat the fat, that ye may be filled; and ye shall drink the blood, that ye may be drunken with the sacrifice which I kill for you.

20 Fill yourselves therefore over my table with horses, and with horsemen, and with mighty men, and with all manner of men of war, saith the LORD GOD.

21 And I will bring my glory among the Gentiles, and all the Gentiles shall see my judgment which I have executed, and my hand which I have laid upon them,

22 And so the house of Israel shall know that I the LORD am their God from that day forward,

23 And the heathen know how that the house of Israel was carried away for their iniquity, and that they had sinned against me. Therefore have I hid my face from them, and delivered them into the hand of their adversaries, that they should all fall by the sword.

24 I have done unto them according to their sin and transgression, and have hid my face from them.

25 Therefore thus saith the LORD GOD; Now will I turn the prison of Jacob, and have mercy upon all the house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name.

26 And they shall bear their reproach, and all their sin, because they have sinned against me, when they dwell safely in their own land, that no man may affright them,

27 And I brought them again out of the nations, and gathered them out of the countries of their enemies, and was sanctified in them in the sight of many nations.

28 So they shall know that I the LORD am their God, which have led them away among the heathen, and have gathered them again into their own land, and have not left one of them there.

29 And I will hide my face from them no more: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the LORD GOD.
