John 17

1 When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You.

2 For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He will give eternal life to all those You have given Him.

3 Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

4 I have glorified You on earth. I have accomplished the work You gave Me to do.

5 And now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world existed.

6 I have revealed Your name to those You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours; You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

7 Now they know that everything You have given Me comes from You.

8 For I have given them the words You gave Me, and they have received them. They knew with certainty that I came from You, and they believed that You sent Me.

9 I ask on their behalf. I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those You have given Me; for they are Yours.

10 All I have is Yours, and all You have is Mine; and in them I have been glorified.

11 I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one.

12 While I was with them in the world, I protected and preserved by Your name those You gave Me. Not one of them has been lost, except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.

13 But now I am coming to You; and I am saying these things while I am in the world, so that they may have My joy fulfilled within them.

14 I have given them Your word and the world has hated them. For they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

15 I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.

16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth.

18 As You sent Me into the world, I have also sent them into the world.

19 For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the truth.

20 I am not asking on behalf of them alone, but also on behalf of those who will believe in Me through their message,

21 that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

22 I have given them the glory You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one—

23 I in them and You in Me—that they may be perfectly united and that the world may know that You sent Me and have loved them just as You have loved Me.

24 Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

25 Righteous Father, although the world has not known You, I know You, and they know that You sent Me.

26 And I have made Your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love You have for Me may be in them, and I in them.”

1 ¶ These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, ‹Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:›

2 ‹As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.›

3 ‹And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.›

4 ‹I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.›

5 ‹And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.›

6 ¶ ‹I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.›

7 ‹Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.›

8 ‹For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received› [them], ‹and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.›

9 ‹I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.›

10 ‹And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.›

11 ¶ ‹And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we› [are].

12 ‹While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.›

13 ‹And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.›

14 ‹I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.›

15 ‹I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.›

16 ‹They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.›

17 ¶ ‹Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.›

18 ‹As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.›

19 ‹And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.›

20 ¶ ‹Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;›

21 ‹That they all may be one; as thou, Father,› [art] ‹in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.›

22 ‹And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:›

23 ‹I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.›

24 ¶ ‹Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.›

25 ‹O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.›

26 ‹And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare› [it]: ‹that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.›

1 These things spake JEsus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is here, that thou shouldest glorify thy Son, that thy Son also should glorify thee,

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he might give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him.

3 And this is life eternal, that they may know thee, that thou only art true God, and whom thou hast sent, Jesus Christ.

4 I have glorified thee upon the earth, and Thou hast finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

5 And now thou, Father, glorify me with thine own self with the clearness which I had with thee before the world was.

6 I have manifested thy name unto men, whom thou gavest me out of the world. They were thine, and thou gavest them unto me; and they have kept thy word.

7 Now they know that all things which thou hast given me are of thee.

8 For the words which thou gavest me I have given them: and they have received them, and have known truly that I came forth from thee, and have believed that thou didst send me.

9 I pray for them, and pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me: for they are thine.

10 And all that is mine is thine, And that which is thine is mine; and I am glorified in them.

11 And I am no more in the world: but they are in the world, and I come unto thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name, which thou hast given me, that they may be one like us.

12 While I was with them in the world, I preserved them in thy name. Those whom thou gavest me I have preserved: and there is not one of them lost, save the child that is lost, that the scripture may be fulfilled.

13 But now I come unto thee, and speak these things in the world, that they may have my joy made perfect in them.

14 I have given them thy word, and the world hateth them: for they are not of the world, as I also am not of the world.

15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from evil.

16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them in thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so send I them into the world.

19 I sanctify myself for them, that they also may be sanctified in the truth.

20 But I pray not for them only, but also for them which shall believe on me through their word,

21 That they all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And I have given them the glory which thou gavest me, that they may be one, even as we are one,

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, even as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that where I am, they also which thou hast given me may be with me, that they may behold my glory which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25 Righteous Father, the world knoweth not thee: but I know thee, and these know that thou hast sent me.

26 And I have made known unto them thy name, and will make known unto them, that love, that thou mayest love me, may be in them, and I in them.
