Leviticus 8

1 Then the LORD said to Moses,

2 “Take Aaron and his sons, their garments, the anointing oil, the bull of the sin offering, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread,

3 and assemble the whole congregation at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.”

4 So Moses did as the LORD had commanded him, and the assembly gathered at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

5 And Moses said to them, “This is what the LORD has commanded to be done.”

6 Then Moses presented Aaron and his sons and washed them with water.

7 He put the tunic on Aaron, tied the sash around him, clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod on him. He tied the woven band of the ephod around him and fastened it to him.

8 Then he put the breastpiece on him and placed the Urim and Thummim in the breastpiece.

9 Moses also put the turban on Aaron’s head and set the gold plate, the holy diadem, on the front of the turban, as the LORD had commanded him.

10 Next, Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it; and so he consecrated them.

11 He sprinkled some of the oil on the altar seven times, anointing the altar and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand, to consecrate them.

12 He also poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him to consecrate him.

13 Then Moses presented Aaron’s sons, put tunics on them, wrapped sashes around them, and tied headbands on them, just as the LORD had commanded him.

14 Moses then brought the bull near for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

15 Moses slaughtered the bull, took some of the blood, and applied it with his finger to all four horns of the altar, purifying the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar and consecrated it so that atonement could be made on it.

16 Moses also took all the fat that was on the entrails, the lobe of the liver, and both kidneys and their fat, and burned it all on the altar.

17 But the bull with its hide, flesh, and dung he burned outside the camp, as the LORD had commanded him.

18 Then Moses presented the ram for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

19 Moses slaughtered the ram and splattered the blood on all sides of the altar.

20 He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces, and the fat.

21 He washed the entrails and legs with water and burned the entire ram on the altar as a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

22 After that, Moses presented the other ram, the ram of ordination, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

23 Moses slaughtered the ram and took some of its blood and put it on Aaron’s right earlobe, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

24 Moses also presented Aaron’s sons and put some of the blood on their right earlobes, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then he splattered the blood on all sides of the altar.

25 And Moses took the fat—the fat tail, all the fat that was on the entrails, the lobe of the liver, and both kidneys with their fat—as well as the right thigh.

26 And from the basket of unleavened bread that was before the LORD, he took one cake of unleavened bread, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer, and he placed them on the fat portions and on the right thigh.

27 He put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and waved them before the LORD as a wave offering.

28 Then Moses took these from their hands and burned them on the altar with the burnt offering. This was an ordination offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.

29 He also took the breast—Moses’ portion of the ram of ordination—and waved it before the LORD as a wave offering, as the LORD had commanded him.

30 Next, Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood that was on the altar and sprinkled them on Aaron and his garments, and on his sons and their garments. So he consecrated Aaron and his garments, as well as Aaron’s sons and their garments.

31 And Moses said to Aaron and his sons, “Boil the meat at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and eat it there with the bread that is in the basket of ordination offerings, as I commanded, saying, ‘Aaron and his sons are to eat it.’

32 Then you must burn up the remainder of the meat and bread.

33 You must not go outside the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are complete; for it will take seven days to ordain you.

34 What has been done today has been commanded by the LORD in order to make atonement on your behalf.

35 You must remain at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days and keep the LORD’s charge so that you will not die, for this is what I have been commanded.”

36 So Aaron and his sons did everything the LORD had commanded through Moses.

1 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and a bullock for the sin offering, and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread;

3 And gather thou all the congregation together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

5 And Moses said unto the congregation, This [is] the thing which the LORD commanded to be done.

6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

7 And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the curious girdle of the ephod, and bound [it] unto him therewith.

8 And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate the Urim and the Thummim.

9 And he put the mitre upon his head; also upon the mitre, [even] upon his forefront, did he put the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD commanded Moses.

10 And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that [was] therein, and sanctified them.

11 And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all his vessels, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them.

12 And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

13 And Moses brought Aaron's sons, and put coats upon them, and girded them with girdles, and put bonnets upon them; as the LORD commanded Moses.

14 ¶ And he brought the bullock for the sin offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock for the sin offering.

15 And he slew [it]; and Moses took the blood, and put [it] upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make reconciliation upon it.

16 And he took all the fat that [was] upon the inwards, and the caul [above] the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and Moses burned [it] upon the altar.

17 But the bullock, and his hide, his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as the LORD commanded Moses.

18 And he brought the ram for the burnt offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.

19 And he killed [it]; and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

20 And he cut the ram into pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat.

21 And he washed the inwards and the legs in water; and Moses burnt the whole ram upon the altar: it [was] a burnt sacrifice for a sweet savour, [and] an offering made by fire unto the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

22 And he brought the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.

23 And he slew [it]; and Moses took of the blood of it, and put [it] upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

24 And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the great toes of their right feet: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

25 And he took the fat, and the rump, and all the fat that [was] upon the inwards, and the caul [above] the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right shoulder:

26 And out of the basket of unleavened bread, that [was] before the LORD, he took one unleavened cake, and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put [them] on the fat, and upon the right shoulder:

27 And he put all upon Aaron's hands, and upon his sons' hands, and waved them [for] a wave offering before the LORD.

28 And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt [them] on the altar upon the burnt offering: they [were] consecrations for a sweet savour: it [is] an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

29 And Moses took the breast, and waved it [for] a wave offering before the LORD: [for] of the ram of consecration it was Moses' part; as the LORD commanded Moses.

30 And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which [was] upon the altar, and sprinkled [it] upon Aaron, [and] upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, [and] his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

31 ¶ And Moses said unto Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh [at] the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and there eat it with the bread that [is] in the basket of consecrations, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it.

32 And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire.

33 And ye shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation [in] seven days, until the days of your consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you.

34 As he hath done this day, [so] the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an atonement for you.

35 Therefore shall ye abide [at] the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.

36 So Aaron and his sons did all things which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying:

2 Take Aaron and his sons with him, and their garments, and the anointing oil, and a bullock for a sin offering, and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread.

3 And gather all the congregation together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 And Moses did as the LORD commanded him, and gathered the congregation together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

5 And said unto them: This is that the LORD hath commanded to be done.

6 And he took Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

7 And he put on him the linen skirt, and girded him with the girdle, and put on him the silk skirt, and put on him the ephod, and girded him over the ephod.

8 And he put the small shield upon him, and in the small shield light and judgment.

9 And he put his hat upon his head, and put upon the top of his head the golden leaf of the crown of holiness, as the LORD commanded Moses.

10 And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle, and all that was therein, and consecrated it.

11 And he sprinkled therewith seven times upon the altar, and anointed the altar with all his vessels, and the palm with his foot, to consecrate it.

12 And he poured the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him to consecrate him.

13 And he brought Aaron's sons, and put on them coats of linen, and girded them with the girdle, and put on them bonnets, as the LORD commanded him.

14 And he brought a bullock for a sin offering. And Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon his head.

15 And they slew it. And Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and defiled the altar, and poured the blood upon the base of the altar, and sanctified it, to make an atonement for it.

16 And he took all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat upon them, and burnt them upon the altar.

17 But the bullock with his hide, and his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with fire without the camp, as the LORD commanded him.

18 And he brought a ram for a burnt offering. And Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon his head.

19 And they slew him. And Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about,

20 And he cut the ram in pieces, and set on fire the head, and the pieces, and the stump.

21 And he washed the inwards and the legs with water, and burnt the whole ram upon the altar. This was a burnt offering for a sweet savour, a fire unto the LORD, as the LORD commanded him.

22 And he brought the other ram of the passover. And Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon his head.

23 And they slaughtered him. And Moses took his blood, and put it upon the cartilage of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

24 And he brought Aaron's sons, and put the blood upon the cartilage of their right ear, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

25 And he took the fat, and the tail, and all the fat that was upon the bowels, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat upon them, and the right shoulder.

26 And he took of the basket of unleavened bread before the LORD one cake of unleavened bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one patty; and laid it upon the fat, and upon the right shoulder.

27 And he gave all these things into the hands of Aaron and his sons, and waved them for a wave before the LORD.

28 And they took it all again from their hands, and burnt it upon the altar, upon the burnt offering: for it is a sacrifice made by fire for a sweet savour, a fire unto the LORD.

29 And Moses took the breast, and wove a wave before the LORD of the ram of the sacrifice of the filling. And it became a portion unto Moses, as the LORD commanded him.

30 And Moses took the anointing oil and the blood upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon their garments; and consecrated Aaron, and his garments, and his sons, and their garments with him.

31 And he said unto Aaron and to his sons: Boil the flesh at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and eat it there, and the bread that is in the basket of the passover, as I am commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it.

32 And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread ye shall burn with fire.

33 And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation seven days, until the days of your filling be fulfilled: for seven days are your hands filled,

34 As it was done this day. The LORD hath commanded it to be done, that ye might be reconciled.

35 And ye shall tarry at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days; and ye shall wait upon the watch of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.

36 And Aaron and his sons did according to all that the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
