Psalms 120

1 A song of ascents. In my distress I cried to the LORD, and He answered me.

2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips and a deceitful tongue.

3 What will He do to you, and what will be added to you, O deceitful tongue?

4 Sharp arrows will come from the warrior, with burning coals of the broom tree!

5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar!

6 Too long have I dwelt among those who hate peace.

7 I am in favor of peace; but when I speak, they want war.

1 ¶ A Song of degrees. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.

2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, [and] from a deceitful tongue.

3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

5 ¶ Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, [that] I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6 My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

7 I [am for] peace: but when I speak, they [are] for war.

2 O Lord, deliver my soul from the lying lips, and from the false tongues.

3 what can the wrong tongue do to you? and what can it do?

4 it is like sharp arrows of a strong man, like fire in junipers.

5 Woe is me, that I am a stranger among Meshech! I will dwell among the tents of Kedar.

6 It shall be long unto my soul to dwell with them that hate peace.

7 I keep peace; but when I speak, they make war.
