Psalms 33

1 Rejoice in the LORD, O righteous ones; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.

2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to Him with ten strings.

3 Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.

4 For the word of the LORD is upright, and all His work is trustworthy.

5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His loving devotion.

6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the stars by the breath of His mouth.

7 He piles up the waters of the sea; He puts the depths into storehouses.

8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere Him.

9 For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.

10 The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations; He thwarts the devices of the peoples.

11 The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the purposes of His heart to all generations.

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His inheritance!

13 The LORD looks down from heaven; He sees all the sons of men.

14 From His dwelling place He gazes on all who inhabit the earth.

15 He shapes the hearts of each; He considers all their works.

16 No king is saved by his vast army; no warrior is delivered by his great strength.

17 A horse is a vain hope for salvation; even its great strength cannot save.

18 Surely the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His loving devotion

19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.

21 For our hearts rejoice in Him, since we trust in His holy name.

22 May Your loving devotion rest on us, O LORD, as we put our hope in You.

2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings.

3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

4 For the word of the LORD [is] right; and all his works [are done] in truth.

5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

9 For he spake, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast.

10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

12 ¶ Blessed [is] the nation whose God [is] the LORD; [and] the people [whom] he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.

14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

17 An horse [is] a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver [any] by his great strength.

18 Behold, the eye of the LORD [is] upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he [is] our help and our shield.

21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

1 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous. Let the righteous praise him beautifully.

2 Give thanks unto the LORD with harps, and sing praises unto him upon the psaltery of ten strings.

3 Sing unto him a new song; make it good on strings with sound.

4 For the word of the LORD is true, and what he saith he keepeth.

5 He loveth righteousness and judgment. The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

6 The heavens were made by the word of the LORD, and all his host by the spirit of his mouth.

7 he holds the waters of the sea together as in a hose, and puts the depths in hiding.

8 Let all the earth fear the LORD, and let all that dwell upon the face of the earth be afraid of him.

9 For he speaketh, and it is done; and he giveth, and it is written.

10 The LORD destroyeth the counsel of the heathen, and turneth back the thoughts of the nations.

11 But the counsel of the LORD endureth for ever, the thoughts of his heart for ever.

12 Blessed are the people, whom the LORD is a God, the people whom he hath chosen for an inheritance.

13 The LORD looketh down from heaven, and seeth the children of all men.

14 From his high throne he looketh upon all them that dwell on the earth.

15 He directeth the heart of them all; he marketh all their works.

16 A king is not saved by his great power; a giant is not saved by his great strength;

17 Neither do horses help, neither doth their great strength deliver.

18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, that hope in his mercy,

19 That he might save their souls from death, and feed them in affliction.

20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

21 For our heart rejoiceth in him, and we trust in his holy name.

22 Thy lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us, as we hope in thee.
