Psalms 46

1 For the choirmaster. Of the sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A song. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth is transformed and the mountains are toppled into the depths of the seas,

3 though their waters roar and foam and the mountains quake in the surge. Selah

4 There is a river whose streams delight the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

5 God is within her; she will not be moved. God will help her when morning dawns.

6 Nations rage, kingdoms crumble; the earth melts when He lifts His voice.

7 The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

8 Come, see the works of the LORD, who brings devastation upon the earth.

9 He makes wars to cease throughout the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields in the fire.

10 “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.”

11 The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

1 ¶ To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 [Though] the waters thereof roar [and] be troubled, [though] the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 [There is] a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy [place] of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God [is] in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, [and that] right early.

6 ¶ The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The LORD of hosts [is] with us; the God of Jacob [is] our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I [am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The LORD of hosts [is] with us; the God of Jacob [is] our refuge. Selah.

2 God is our confidence and strength, a help in the great hardships that have befallen us.

3 Therefore we fear not, though the world were to end, and though the mountains were to sink into the midst of the sea,

4 Though the sea raged and tossed, and the mountains fell from the violence thereof. Sela.

5 Nevertheless the city of God shall be pleasant with her fountains, where are the holy habitation of the Most High.

6 God is with her within, therefore she will abide well; God will help her early.

7 The heathen shall despair, and the kingdoms shall fall: the earth shall perish, if he be heard.

8 The LORD of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our refuge. Sela.

9 Come and see the works of the LORD, which destroyeth the earth,

10 Who controls wars in all the earth, who breaks bows, shatters spears, and burns chariots with fire.

11 Be still, and know that I am God. I will bring glory among the nations, I will bring glory on earth.

12 The LORD of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our refuge. Sela.
