Majority Standard Bible

1 For the choirmaster. According to Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD of Hosts!

2 My soul longs, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she places her young near Your altars, O LORD of Hosts, my King and my God.

4 How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. Selah

5 Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.

6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; even the autumn rain covers it with pools.

7 They go from strength to strength, until each appears before God in Zion.

8 O LORD God of Hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah

9 Take notice of our shield, O God, and look with favor on the face of Your anointed.

10 For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

11 For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.

12 O LORD of Hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!

KJV

1 ¶ To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. How amiable [are] thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, [even] thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

4 Blessed [are] they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

5 Blessed [is] the man whose strength [is] in thee; in whose heart [are] the ways [of them].

6 [Who] passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

7 They go from strength to strength, [every one of them] in Zion appeareth before God.

8 ¶ O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

10 For a day in thy courts [is] better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good [thing] will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O LORD of hosts, blessed [is] the man that trusteth in thee.

1545 Luther's English Bible (LED)

Of the church and the preaching ministry.

1 a psalm of the children of Korah, to be sung on the githith.

2 How goodly are thy dwelling places, O LORD of hosts!

3 My soul desireth and longeth for the courts of the LORD: my body and soul rejoice in the living God.

4 For the bird hath found a house, and the swallow her nest, where they lay young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God.

5 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they praise thee for ever. Sela.

6 Blessed are the men that count thee their strength, and walk after thee with their hearts,

7 Who pass through the vale of tears, and make wells there. And the teachers are adorned with many blessings.

8 They get one victory after another, that it must be seen that the right God is in Zion.

9 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Sela.

10 O God, our shield, look; behold the kingdom of thine anointed!

11 For one day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I will rather keep the door of my God's house, than dwell long in the tabernacles of the wicked.

12 For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD giveth grace and honour: he will not fail the good of the upright.

13 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
