Behold, I Create New Heavens and a New Earth
Episode Description
Text: Isaiah 65:17–25 | Last Sunday of the Church Year
In this extended, Luther-style sermon on Isaiah 65:17–25, we confront the false gospels of our age and hear the biblical promise of a new creation given not through politics, progress, or human achievement but Christ alone. Just as justification is the work of God without our help, so the future world is not a human project but a divine gift. This message proclaims that God does not remodel the old creation or improve our sinful condition—He destroys the old and raises the new.
We expose the idolatry of political parties, activism, nationalism, utopian idealism, social engineering, and self-saving religion. Against these false hopes, Isaiah announces that God alone creates the new heavens and the new earth. In the resurrection to come, He will wipe away remembrance of sin, remove boasting, end war, and grant labor without pain—all through the crucified and risen Christ.
This is not a call to fix the world, but to wait in faith for the One who is coming to replace it.
Come, Lord Jesus.
