Episode Description

this episode, we explore why Jesus “spoke as one who had authority, and not as the scribes,” and why Christians today are called to speak with that same Scriptural confidence. We look at how the Apostles, the Prophets, the Lutheran Confessions, Martin Luther, and C. F. W. Walther all understood that God’s Word must be spoken clearly, boldly, and without hesitation.

We expose the false humility that hides behind doubt, the modern tendency to speak more confidently about politics and science than about Christ, and the pressure to soften or hedge God’s Word. And we show how Scripture not only gives us the doctrines of the faith—it gives us its language and tone, and commands us to imitate it.

This episode is a call to let God’s Word reshape our speech so we may confess with clarity: “Thus says the Lord.”
