Episode Description

In this episode, we examine Thesis VIII of C. F. W. Walther’s Church and Ministry—one of the most uncomfortable and necessary teachings for Christians today.

Walther shows from Scripture that the Church is not defined by names, constitutions, or synodical affiliations, but by what is actually taught. We explore the biblical command to flee false teachers, why remaining in fellowship with false doctrine is itself a confession, and why a church that claims the Lutheran Confessions while denying them in practice is more dangerous than open heterodoxy.

This episode also addresses a hard pastoral question: What should Christians do when no truly orthodox Lutheran church is available? Walther’s answer is sober, faithful, and freeing.

This is not about arrogance or sectarianism.

It is about faithfulness to Christ, love for His sheep, and obedience to His Word.
