94 - Laws of Nature
1. The laws of nature are under divine providence a curb and bar to the perverse will of man or to the execution of his evil purposes, forasmuch as man, though he may in a measure govern or modify natural objects or control natural forces, can never change or control the laws of nature,
Job 38, Genesis 1 and Genesis 2.
2. but can make nature subservient to his purposes only in accordance to the physical laws laid down by the Creator.
Psalm 104:24 O Lord, how manifold are Thy works! in wisdom hast Thou made them all: the earth is full of Thy riches.
Matthew 5:36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
Job 34:13–15 Who hath given Him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world? If He set His heart upon man, if He gather unto Himself his spirit and his breath; all flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
