A Servant Shaped By Hardship
An orphan caring for others
Kutesa Henry is an orphan who helped raise his siblings while growing up, and that experience deeply shaped the way he now serves vulnerable people in his own community. He is single and currently lives and works in Kaliro District, Uganda, where he encourages people to read the Bible, attend church services, and care for one another in Christian love.
He attended Iganga High School for both ordinary and advanced education, then continued his studies at Makerere University Jinja, where he earned training in social work and business planning. Those studies strengthened his desire to serve the people around him, especially orphans, the elderly, and disabled people who often had little support.
His mission is simple and openly Christian: to spread Christianity, encourage love among neighbors, help those who are suffering, and glorify God through acts of kindness. That has taken shape in practical work as well as spiritual encouragement, especially among poor families and younger people whose suffering has deeply affected him.
After finishing his studies, he became interested in agriculture, following the example of his father, who had been a farmer. He began using his own garden to grow different crops and then used the money from those crops to support church programs. Over time, the church became increasingly aware of how many people in the community could not support themselves, and Henry was especially moved by the suffering of the younger generation.
As time went on, the land began to lose fertility. Crops failed, growth weakened, and plants died. Yet the people who had come to depend on the help he was providing through the church still needed support. That difficult change pushed him to begin looking for sponsors and new partners, which is what eventually led him into contact with Pastor Charles Wiese and Last Christian Ministries.
