2) Brisger was lent to Zeitz because, after he had taken up his office there on November 9, 1539, we see from the letter of the Electoral Council to the Wittenberg theologians of May 21, 1540 and the same answer to it of May 22, that, at that time, the council of Zeitz asked that Brisger be left there and be ordained and confirmed to them as pastor. On June 7, Brisger was back in Altenburg.
