Psalms 61

1 For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer.

2 From the ends of the earth I call out to You whenever my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For You have been my refuge, a tower of strength against the enemy.

4 Let me dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

5 For You have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the inheritance reserved for those who fear Your name.

6 Increase the days of the king’s life; may his years span many generations.

7 May he sit enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness to guard him.

8 Then I will ever sing praise to Your name and fulfill my vows day by day.

2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock [that] is higher than I.

3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, [and] a strong tower from the enemy.

4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

5 ¶ For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given [me] the heritage of those that fear thy name.

6 Thou wilt prolong the king's life: [and] his years as many generations.

7 He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, [which] may preserve him.

8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

3 While I am yet on earth, when my heart is in anguish, I cry unto thee, Thou wilt lead me up to a high rock.

4 For thou art my confidence, one before mine enemies.

5 I will dwell in thy tabernacle for ever; I will trust under thy wings. Sela.

6 For thou, O God, hearest my vows: thou rewardest them that fear thy name.

7 Thou givest a king long life, that his years may endure for ever and ever,

8 That he may always sit down before God, shewing him kindness and faithfulness that keep him.

9 Then will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, and pay my vows daily.
