Revelation 5

1 Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the One seated on the throne. It had writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals.

2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”

3 But no one in heaven above or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or look inside it.

4 And I began to weep bitterly, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it.

5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

6 Then I saw a Lamb who appeared to have been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

7 And He came and took the scroll from the right hand of the One seated on the throne.

8 When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

9 And they sang a new song: “Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood You purchased us for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

10 You have made them to be kings and priests to serve our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels encircling the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands.

12 In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever. Amen!”

14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

1 ¶ And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

6 ¶ And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four [and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, [be] unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four [and] twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, nor under the earth, was able to open the book, and to look therein.

4 And I wept greatly, because no man was found worthy to open the book, nor to read, nor to look therein.

5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not. Behold, the lion that is of the seed of Judah, the root of David, hath overcome to open the book, and to break the seven seals thereof.

6 And I looked, and, behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent into all the earth.

8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and the four and twenty elders fell before the Lamb, having every man harps and golden vials full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints,

10 And have made us kings and priests unto our God, and we shall be kings in the earth.

11 And I saw and heard a voice of many angels round about the throne, and round about the beasts, and round about the elders; and their number was many thousand times a thousand.

12 And they said with a loud voice: The Lamb that is slain is worthy to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and praise.

13 And I heard every creature that is in heaven, and that is in earth, and that is under the earth, and that is in the sea, and all that is within, saying unto him that sat upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, Praise, and honour, and glory, and power, for ever and ever.

14 And the four beasts said: Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down, and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
