Revelation 6

1 Then I watched as the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come and see!”

2 So I saw a white horse, and its rider held a bow. And he was given a crown, and he rode out to overcome and conquer.

3 And when the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”

4 Then another horse went forth. It was bright red, and its rider was granted permission to take away peace from the earth and to make men slay one another. And he was given a great sword.

5 And when the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see!” And I saw a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales.

6 And I heard a voice from among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine.”

7 And when the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living creature say, “Come and see!”

8 Then I saw a pale green horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed close behind. And he was given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill by sword, by famine, by plague, and by the beasts of the earth.

9 And when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony of the Lamb that they had upheld.

10 And they cried out in a loud voice, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge those who dwell upon the earth and avenge our blood?”

11 Then each of them was given a white robe and told to rest a little while longer until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers, were killed, just as they had been killed.

12 And I watched as the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black like sackcloth of goat hair, and the whole moon turned blood red,

13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth like unripe figs dropping from a tree shaken by a great wind.

14 The sky receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.

15 Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the commanders, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and free man hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.

16 And they said to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.

17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?”

1 ¶ And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

3 ¶ And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

4 And there went out another horse [that was] red: and [power] was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

9 ¶ And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they [were], should be fulfilled.

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

9 And when the fifth seal was opened, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of GOD, and for the testimony which they had.

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying: O LORD, holy and true, how long wilt thou judge and not avenge our blood upon them that dwell upon the earth?

11 And to them was given every man a white robe: and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet a little season, until their fellowservants and their brethren should come in full, and be killed as they were.

12 And I saw the sixth seal opened; and, behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun was black as sackcloth, and the moon was as blood.

13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree casteth her figs when she is moved by a great wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a wrapped book; and all the mountains and islands were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the rulers, and the rich men, and the captains, and the mighty men, and all the bondmen, and all the free men, hid themselves in the clefts and in the rocks of the mountains.

16 And they said unto the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb;

17 For the great day of his wrath is come, and who can stand?
