Exodus 26

1 “You are to construct the tabernacle itself with ten curtains of finely spun linen, each with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and cherubim skillfully worked into them.

2 Each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide—all curtains the same size.

3 Five of the curtains are to be joined together, and the other five joined as well.

4 Make loops of blue material on the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and do the same for the end curtain in the second set.

5 Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the second set, so that the loops line up opposite one another.

6 Make fifty gold clasps as well, and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle will be a unit.

7 You are to make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven curtains in all.

8 Each of the eleven curtains is to be the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.

9 Join five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another. Then fold the sixth curtain over double at the front of the tent.

10 Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.

11 Make fifty bronze clasps and put them through the loops to join the tent together as a unit.

12 As for the overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over shall hang down over the back of the tabernacle.

13 And the tent curtains will be a cubit longer on either side, and the excess will hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.

14 Also make a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.

15 You are to construct upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.

16 Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.

17 Two tenons must be connected to each other for each frame. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.

18 Construct twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle,

19 with forty silver bases under the twenty frames—two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.

20 For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, make twenty frames

21 and forty silver bases—two bases under each frame.

22 Make six frames for the rear of the tabernacle, the west side,

23 and two frames for the two back corners of the tabernacle,

24 coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. These will serve as the two corners.

25 So there are to be eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.

26 You are also to make five crossbars of acacia wood for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,

27 five for those on the other side, and five for those on the rear side of the tabernacle, to the west.

28 The central crossbar in the middle of the frames shall extend from one end to the other.

29 Overlay the frames with gold and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold.

30 So you are to set up the tabernacle according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.

31 Make a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it.

32 Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood, overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases.

33 And hang the veil from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the veil. So the veil will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.

34 Put the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.

35 And place the table outside the veil on the north side of the tabernacle, and put the lampstand opposite the table, on the south side.

36 For the entrance to the tent, you are to make a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen.

37 Make five posts of acacia wood for the curtain, overlay them with gold, use hooks of gold, and cast five bronze bases for them.

1 ¶ Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle [with] ten curtains [of] fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: [with] cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.

2 The length of one curtain [shall be] eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.

3 The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and [other] five curtains [shall be] coupled one to another.

4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of [another] curtain, in the coupling of the second.

5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that [is] in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.

6 And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.

7 ¶ And thou shalt make curtains [of] goats' [hair] to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.

8 The length of one curtain [shall be] thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains [shall be all] of one measure.

9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tabernacle.

10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain [that is] outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.

11 And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass, and put the taches into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.

13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent [of] rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above [of] badgers' skins.

15 ¶ And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle [of] shittim wood standing up.

16 Ten cubits [shall be] the length of a board, and a cubit and a half [shall be] the breadth of one board.

17 Two tenons [shall there be] in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.

19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.

20 And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side [there shall be] twenty boards:

21 And their forty sockets [of] silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

22 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.

23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.

24 And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

25 And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets [of] silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

26 And thou shalt make bars [of] shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.

28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.

29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings [of] gold [for] places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.

30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.

31 ¶ And thou shalt make a vail [of] blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim [wood] overlaid with gold: their hooks [shall be of] gold, upon the four sockets of silver.

33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy [place] and the most holy.

34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy [place].

35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

36 And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, [of] blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.

37 And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars [of] shittim [wood], and overlay them with gold, [and] their hooks [shall be of] gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.

1 The tabernacle shalt thou make of ten curtains, of white silk, and of yellow silk, and of scarlet, and of russet. And thou shalt make cherubims thereon artificially.

2 The length of a carpet shall be twenty and eight cubits, and the breadth four cubits: and all the ten shall be equal.

3 And there shall be five joined together, one to another.

4 And thou shalt make loops of yellow silk in every place of the carpet, where they shall be joined together; and two and two shall be joined together in their places,

5 Fifty loops upon each carpet, that one may bind the other together.

6 And thou shalt make fifty sheaves of gold to bind the curtains together, one to another, that it may be a tabernacle.

7 Thou shalt also make a covering of goats' hair for a tabernacle over the tabernacle of eleven carpents.

8 The length of a carpet shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth four cubits: and every eleven shall be of the same size.

9 Five shalt thou put together, and six shalt thou put together: and thou shalt make the sixth carpet two in the front of the tabernacle.

10 And thou shalt make fifty loops upon every carpet, in their places, to be joined together at the ends thereof.

11 And thou shalt make fifty brasen haves, and put the haves in the loops, that the tabernacle may be joined together, and become one tabernacle.

12 But the overhang of the carpets of the tabernacle shalt thou leave half of them overhanging the tabernacle,

13 A cubit on either side, that the rest may be on the sides of the tabernacle, and cover it on either side.

14 Over this covering thou shalt make a covering of red ram skins, and over it a covering of badger skins.

15 Thou shalt also make boards for the tabernacle of pine wood, which shall stand.

16 The length of the board shall be ten cubits, and the breadth thereof a cubit and a half.

17 Every board shall have two tenons, that it may be set one against another. So shalt thou make all the boards of the tabernacle.

18 twenty shall be their number at noon.

19 And they shall have forty silver feet underneath, two feet under every board, by the two pins thereof.

20 So on the other side, toward the midnight, shall be twenty boards.

21 And forty silver feet, two feet under each board.

22 And at the back of the tabernacle toward the even thou shalt make six boards.

23 for this purpose two boards at the back of the two corners of the apartment,

24 That each of the two may be joined together with his place-board from beneath, and be joined together at the top of the head with a clamp,

25 Eight boards with their silver feet: sixteen boards shall be under each board, two under each board.

26 And thou shalt make bars of pine wood, five for the boards upon one side of the tabernacle.

27 and five to the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five to the boards at the back of the tabernacle toward the evening.

28 And thou shalt put through the bars in the midst of the boards, and gather them together from place to place.

29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make the rings thereof of gold, and put the bars therein.

30 And the bars thou shalt overlay with gold. And thou shalt set up the tabernacle after the manner that thou sawest in the mount.

31 And thou shalt make a vail of yellow silk, and scarlet, and scarlet, and twined white silk; and thou shalt make cherubims artificially thereon.

32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of pine wood overlaid with gold, having gold knobs, and four silver feet.

33 And thou shalt fasten the curtain with thongs, and set the ark of the testimony within the curtain, that it may be a difference unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

35 And set the table over against the curtain, and the candlestick over against the table, toward the midst of the tabernacle, that the table may stand toward the north.

36 And thou shalt make a cloth in the door of the tabernacle, of yellow silk, and of scarlet, and of twined white silk.

37 And thou shalt make of the same cloth five pillars of pine wood overlaid with gold, with crowns of gold: and thou shalt cast them five feet of brass.
